How to file an EDF for a Wise payment

English

Wise is the route a client uses to pay you. The Export Declaration Form still describes the service on your invoice, and the bank that receives the credit is the bank that should get the form.

The transfer and the invoice

A Wise transfer into India is not, by itself, a description of the export. The invoice you raised for the overseas client is. Use that invoice number, date, currency, and amount on Part 2B. The dashboard Wise template reads a statement or transaction CSV and keeps incoming payments.

The client is the service recipient. Wise is the third-party payer. Write Wise’s relationship as the service that transferred the client’s payment.

Rupees or foreign currency

Many Wise payments arrive in an Indian account already converted to rupees. That settlement uses the twelve-month realisation period. If the invoice itself is in foreign currency and the bank receives foreign currency, the period is nine months.

The SAC code is the work on the invoice. Consulting, software, design, advertising, and hosting each have their own code on this site. Do not label every Wise receipt as software.

Filing

File within 30 days after the invoice month. Mode of realisation for an ordinary transfer is other. Sign the form and leave the certification block for the bank.

The bank that is credited is the authorised dealer for that receipt, even if another bank holds your savings account.
